Art Show in the Tunnels
I have been invited to be part of a group art show to be held in the fantastic tunnel entrance of the historic Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, California. It runs the month of November in 2018. It is being held by The Arroyo Arts Collective and the Autry Museum. The title is Remembrance: The Faces and Places. It celebrates all the ways people use and honor places of the dead. My piece explores the ways the catacombs of Paris had been used during World War 2. They were used by both Nazi Germany and the French Resistance. Neither really completely controlled the underground city of the dead. I did it as a collage diorama with found objects.
